How AI Is Upending Buyer Behavior (And Smart Marketers Are Adapting)

with Andrew Davis, SVP of Marketing & Sales at TextUs,

Audio Only

Episode Description

AI is changing how B2B buyers search, evaluate solutions, and decide which brands to trust. For marketers, that means traffic, leads, and traditional attribution metrics no longer tell the whole story.

On StrategyCast, Lori Jones talks with Andrew Davis, SVP of Marketing and Sales at TextUs, about how AI is upending buyer behavior and forcing marketers to rethink their go-to-market strategies. Andrew explains why today’s buyer journey happens across Google, AI platforms like ChatGPT and Claude, review sites, retargeting, and other touchpoints long before a prospect converts.

Listen & Learn

You’ll hear:
• Why website traffic is a leading indicator, not proof of real demand
• How buyers may encounter your brand 5, 6, or 7 times across search, AI, reviews, and advertising before converting
• Why MQLs, pipeline conversion, buyer fit, and engagement can reveal more than cost per lead
• How multi-channel marketing helps brands adapt to a fragmented buyer journey
• Why personalization and human communication still matter in an AI-driven go-to-market strategy
• How rapid creative testing and flexible channel budgets help marketing teams respond to changing performance
• Why curiosity, problem-solving, and human creativity are becoming essential skills for modern marketers

Guest Bio

Andrew Davis is a B2B marketing and sales leader with over 15 years of experience
helping software companies grow through smarter go-to-market strategy, demand
generation, and team building. Currently serving as SVP of Marketing & Sales at TextUs, Andrew sits at the intersection of business communication and pipeline performance, giving him a front-row seat to how companies are evolving the way they reach, engage, and convert customers. His career spans high-growth SaaS environments, including Fishbowl, EverCommerce, and Service Fusion, where he held roles ranging from Director of Marketing to VP of Demand and touched nearly every function in the marketing org on his way up.

But Andrew brings a unique perspective that comes with having done things the wrong way, the right way, and a few ways nobody else was trying. He’s been at broken companies and high-performing ones, built cultures that outlasted him, and launched two startups that didn’t work out. He’s also a former video producer turned marketer, a CrossFit athlete, flag football coach, and host of The 98% Podcast. Andrew is a big believer that most B2B funnels aren’t broken by accident; they’re broken by habit.
